HOMEWORK 2023-2024

Spelling & Vocab:

Beginning this week, 4th and 5th grade students will have spelling & vocabulary homework each week.  The schedule is as follows:  Monday - write spelling words 5 times each, Tuesday - write a sentence using each vocab word correctly, Wednesday - no homework, Thursday - study for spelling & vocab tests however you like, Friday - homework due.  Lists will come home Monday of each week and homework is due on Friday.  It will be graded.  If the list gets lost, it will always be available here on my school website under the “Spelling & Vocab” tab.  - Mrs. Thornton

AR Goals:

Students are given plenty of time to read at school in order to meet their goals, if they focus and use that time wisely.  It may be necessary at times, if your child gets behind on his/her AR goal, to read at home as homework.  They can and should read at home, however AR tests can only be taken at school.  AR is counted as 20% of your child’s reading grade so it’s imperitive they meet their goals.  Please contact me if you need info on how to access and monitor your child’s AR progress.
