Erin Thornton

family picWelcome to the 2023-2024 school year.  I’m Erin Thornton and I will be your 4th and 5th grade Reading and English Language Arts (ELA) teacher!

Let me tell you a little bit about myself.  I am originally from Chandler, Oklahoma, but when I was in high school, my family moved to the Seminole, OK area, where I graduated from Strother High School.  I went to college at East Central University in Ada (where I met my husband, Albert) and earned my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education.

Albert and I married in 2003 and we have two children:  Hadlie, who will be in 11th grade this year, and Brady, who will be in th7 grade here at Krebs.

This will be my 6th  year at Krebs and my 12th year of teaching.

Here are some random facts about me:

Favorite color:  orange

Favorite hobbies:  reading (of course), cooking/baking, fishing, camping, hiking, turkey hunting with my dad… I love being outdoors!

Favorite music:  I like it all, but I love old country.  (bonus fun fact:  I used to sing in public a lot!… weddings, events, etc. and was in show choir in school)

Favorite movie:  The Quiet Man, with John Wayne

Favorite vacation spot:  We love visiting the national parks.  Yellowstone has been our favorite so far!

Please browse the pages below for classroom information including my weekly lesson plans, schedule, contact info. and important links.  Feel free to reach out to me at any time with questions or concerns.  No matter the challenges this year brings us, I’m determined to help your child love reading & writing.  We will have fun and make our time together in ELA class meaningful.  We will learn, grow, and have FUN!
