School Attendance

Your child’s prompt and regular attendance at school is crucial to his/her success.  Please see to it that your child attends every day and is on time, except of course, in cases of illness or emergency.  Cafeteria doors will open at 7:35 each morning. Students are considered tardy if they arrive after 8:00a.m. Our class will eat breakfast in the cafeteria from 7:35-8:00. Breakfast is free for all Krebs students. No outside food is allowed to be brought in for breakfast.  Students need to either eat before school or eat the meal provided by the school. Dismissal time is 3:25p.m. 

Classroom Rules/Behavior/Discipline Plan

We will be implementing the PAX Good Behavior Game. This is a school-wide behavior intervention that teaches students to self-regulate, co-regulate, and group regulate.

    Homework

The students will have AR reading homework on Monday -Thursday nights.  This is a vital part of your child’s reading growth.  Please make sure that they read their story to you or another family member each evening.  Students who read well will do better in other academic areas! Spelling tests will be given on Friday.  Spelling and vocabulary words should be studied nightly. 

Late work: 10 points will be deducted for each day an assignment is late.

Missed work:  If your student is absent, they will have 1 day for every absence to make up their assignments.  Example: miss 1 day; have 1 day to complete missed work.

Birthday

Birthdays are a special time for all of us! You are allowed to send cupcakes or cookies to school with your child. We will eat them during our lunch time and sing happy birthday. All items have to be store-bought, prepackaged items. Homemade items will not be allowed. If your child is having a party at home, I will only distribute invitations if you follow one of the three options: all girls are invited, all boys are invited, or all children in the class are invited.  If you cannot follow one of the three options, please do not send invitations to school.  Many children get their feelings hurt if they are not invited.
